Karan Johar On Takht Being Compared To Sanjay Leela Bhansali Movies: “My Film Will Have Its Own Energy And Charm”
Karan Johar's Takht is touted to be one of the most highly-anticipated movies. Reason? Well, it is pretty obvious. Audiences are having high hopes from the film as it boasts of an ensemble star cast comprising of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor. To add to it, it will be KJo’s first attempt at helming a historical drama. So far, period drama films have been the forte of Sanjay Leela Bhansali who has provided movies with larger-than-life feel and his films have always worked wonders for the audiences and critics alike. In fact, none has come close to SLB’s charm in doing justice to period dramas.

So, it’s obvious that Takht will draw comparisons to SLB’s films. When the filmmaker was asked about the same, speaking to DNA, he said, "I have been asked that and other such questions. While I am a huge fan of SLB, as someone who loves his work, I understand that he has set the benchmark already. However, I am hoping that what I do with Takht will be completely individualistic. Takht will have its own energy and charm."

Earlier, there were rumors that KJo’s magnum opus is being temporarily stalled and the reason stated was that it could be because Dharma Productions faced a massive setback due to Kalank's below-par performance at the Indian box-office. But Karan Johar even shared glimpses of the prep work that is being done for the film and accidentally revealed the release date. Then, there were reports that KJo has rewritten Vicky Kaushal’s role, but we discovered that the script remains unchanged.
